Under the theme of "Donating is uplifting," Centraide Laurentides has produced a short video that is currently available in French only. In less than 2 minutes, it tells you more about Centraide Laurentides and explains why and how « Donating is uplifting ».
The video can also be viewed and shared on Youtube.

Centraide Laurentides, a member of the United Way movement, is an independent non-profit organization which supports a vast network of community assistance groups throughout the Laurentians.
Centraide Laurentides and the local community organizations that it supports reached the same conclusion : Poverty is far from decreasing and is actually increasing in our region. Whatever the cause – individual problems, job cuts, inequity in the distribution of wealth – Centraide Laurentides firmly believes that by taking action directly and collectively, we can reduce the effects of poverty. Through good will, generosity and carefully targeted programs, we can ensure that society in general functions better.
Much more than a source of funding, Centraide Laurentides works hand-in-hand with community organizations and helps find practical solutions to local problems. Examples include the Centraide Children’s Fund, participation in various committees on poverty and food safety, and administration of three community clothing and furniture depots for the past 25 years, to name just a few.

Last September 26, Centraide Laurentides launched its annual fund-raising campaign at the Centre Culturel Louis-St-Laurent in Ville De Lorraine. Some 75 guests from various business and community organizations attended the « 4 to 6 » event.
The president of Centraide’s 50th campaign, Sylvie Laganière, who is also interim director of the CSSS Pays-d’en-Haut, unveiled this year’s theme — “Donating is uplifting”. All Centraides in Québec will use the same theme.
